Making Your Classroom a Maker Space
“MakerSpaces” appear to be places children “go” to work on hands-on activities. In this session Jennifer and David explain how they have turned their classrooms into MakerSpaces with an emphasis on building and construction toys, art and drawing.  There will be a strong emphasis on children’s literature guiding the activities. You will leave the session with projects that you can try in your classroom.

3D Printing, Designing and Coding with 5 Year Olds
This purpose of this session is to promote the intentional use of technology in order to foster collaboration among early learners.  Participants will consider a series of tasks and larger inquiry projects suitable for K-2 students that incorporate green screening, coding and 3D printing.  Together we will take up benefits and challenges of introducing a variety of new and emerging technologies in the 21st century classroom.
