Updating the curriculum is critical to helping students develop the skills they need to realize their dreams. The Government of Alberta is giving students the tools they need to succeed in a fast changing world and critical to that work, is updating our curriculum.
Alberta Education has partnered with The Alberta Teachers’ Association on the development of future curriculum in English and French. More than 300 individuals are giving their time and talents over and above the work they do professionally to move future curriculum forward. They will be developing curriculum through to Grade 12 until 2022.
Alberta Education has released drafts of the proposed Kindergarten to Grade 4 curriculum in Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Sciences, Arts and Wellness Education and will release revised drafts that incorporate feedback from Albertans later in the fall. Alberta Education is also engaging with stakeholders and will coordinate the collaborative development of a curriculum implementation plan
