Do you ever look around your school, your district, or your province and wonder where all the women leaders are? Have you noticed that there are not many women sitting around the table where the decisions are made? Didn’t the women’s movement in the 70s fix all that? In this session, we will delve into the concept of secondary bias, and what this means for women who aspire to positional leadership. We will identify the unique leadership challenges and opportunities facing women in education today and come to understand when and how gender plays a role in both organizational and personal advancement. And we will end with a discussion about the “Me Too” movement and how this may affect women in the workplace today and into the future.
